One Week Until I get to See Kandra, Brian & Brandon

Only one more week until Kandra, Brian and Brandon will be hear. I'm know they will be very tired from traveling on the day they get hear. First time traveling with a 9 1/2 month old boy who can not sit still. I look forward to seeing them and holding Brandon. I enjoyed holding that cute little Grandson in July, He is not little any more and Kandra and Brian are doing a great job raising this little bundle of joy. It is so nice having this grandson.

Thanksgiving

I have not posted anything in a long time. Sorry just busy with everything. I just wanted to tell everyone about our Thanksgiving holiday. I Hope to do another post for Christmas also.

Thanksgiving was pretty casual, It was just our family (Teri, Brittani, Makenzie, Allie, Myself and our dog Daisy) We put the turkey in the oven in the morning and worked on some of the other dinner items. Watched a little TV and played some games. The night before we picked up two Pumpkin pie from Costco (Makenzie most Favorite pie) and we picked up two other pies from Sharies (chocolate Cream, Coconut Cream pies with one slice of pecan pie) I like most all cream pies. We had a great holiday just our own little family.

We are getting ready for Kandra, Brian and Brandon visit from South Carolina December 19th. We will get to see them for two weeks. I hope Brian does not hate his in laws after two weeks.

One more College class done for BS Degree

I just finished one more class with the UOP (University of Phoenix). It was an introduction to programming. The programming we worked on was C. I think that one thing I learned out of the class is I do not want to be a programmer of C. I had good days and bad. I spent 2 days working on one program that was crazy. I'm sure other programs are more forgiving and some are easier to learn. I had one problem that all I left off the program was ";" I was stopping the program from compiling. Once I realized that was my problem all was well.
My next class is a Data base, I will see what it is like in two more weeks.

What should I do.

Well if any of you know me I have worked at Intel for 13+ years on nights (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM). I really enjoy nights because because of no managers I get to make life altering/changing decisions and the Schedule has really worked well with my family Schedule. My Management have come to me in this last week and asked if I would move to Day schedule. It would still be a compressed 12 shift but from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and every other Wednesday. I would lose money (12% of my income) and I would be working with management. I'm still struggling with the idea. My lovely wife told me I could because she is supporting me and I think she know I'm getting older because of the brutal schedule of switching back and forth each week. I would lose having Saturdays off but I would not have to work Sundays nights and the switching of schedules from nights to day would be over. I'm going to think it over for a week and let them know. If any of you have any opinions on this I would really like to know.

Just and update:
I have decided to stay on nights for a while longer. I will try it for another 2 years and who to say what I will do after that.

I'm still in School at the University of Phoenix. I'm going for BSIT I'm doing programming which is not my one of my best subject but it is fun the learn. I'm a little busy with school full time and work full time. I think Teri hates when I'm in school nothing get down around the house.

This last weekend we had High temperature in 95 to 104 degree. We tried to stay in the house and keep the air condition working it tail off. It is Tuesday the 19th of August and it is raining so in Oregon so it you do not like the weather in Oregon just wait a week and it will change.

Biking To Work

I have been enjoying riding my bike to work lately. It is about 6 miles one way, so I get to ride 12 miles. I was using a backpack to carry my cloths for work and rain gear but it was heavy enough to make me top heavy so when I was on the road and riding the white line (edge of road 3 inches on the other side of line) I almost crashed a couple times when cars drove by with the wind gusts and pushing me off the road. I picked up some saddle bags and it has made all the difference for weight distribution because it is lower on the bike. I enjoy not having the backpack on my back also. I do not sweet as much. I will have the wife take a picture of me with all the gear. I also have a computer for the bike it keeps track of total distance I ride and how fast and slow. I have a average speed of 13 mph with a top speed of 29 MPH... I was talking to one of my bosses and he has hit a speed of about 45 mph with his bike. 29 was fast enough for me.

Trip to South Carolina

Just got back from a visit with Brian and Kandra in Myrtle Beach. Was able to hold my New will Grand Baby Brandon David Conary. He was a lot of fun! He is growing up fast. It was nice to spend a week with the Conary Family as we had fun at the beach and doing just a lot of different things around town.
